ADVERTISING: PLANNING AND FINISH PRODUCT

(this is just for the photo of the post, and it was made by me and the explanation will be down below)

When the advertising came to me I had a lot of ideas in mind. I brainstormed all my ideas and I came to a conclusion on what I wanted to do first.

My advertisement would be simple and direct but at the same time professional. I started looking up examples for my advert and I saw a lot from Apple and Google, being both professional and really simplistic.

While I was thinking about what I would do for my advertisement, I came to a website called Freepik. Freepik is a website where you can get material for free for photoshop, and looking more on the website I found this:

The moment I saw this, I knew what I wanted to do. My plan was to do an advertisement to promote my own comic book.

The steps were simple. I downloaded that book that was with everything I needed for my advertisement.

1st- I open this file on photoshop and it came with the book, shadows, reflections on the book, backgrounds, and a place where you can put your own image on the book.

Original book

All the book effects (shadows, reflections, and the main body)

All the backgrounds

2nd- I needed to have a cover for my comic book, so I made them in a program called Krita. In short, Krita is a program similar to photoshop but it only has the drawing options, but it works just great and does the job well. I first made some individual drawings to use and after that, I made the front cover and the side of the book just by putting everything together.

First drawing of the main character
How it looks like in the program Krita
(also showing the beginning of the character drawing)
The logo that I created for the comic book
No font used, only drawing
Showing some of the layers and the original paper drawing of the logo
The colors of the logo are from the main character.
Cover of the book
Basically all the drawings together and for "chapter 1" using the font "Lucida Console"
Side of the book
Similar thing with this one, but the font used for "chapter 1" is "Lucida Sans" because it's easier to read when it's small

And finally the final product:

In the Final Image, I simply used a more attractive font that gave the viewer the feeling that this book is a great book and worth reading. All the outside text use the font "Trebuchet MS". For "OAK TREE" I wrote it in bold and size 200pt, for "CHAPTER 1" I didn't use bold but the space between them was changed to 700 and the size being 66pt (104% vertical and 144% horizontal), and "COMING SOON" is on bold, centered, being 66pt and the space between them is 700 (132% vertical and 144% horizontal).

Final thoughts:
I think I did a good job with this advertisement. I've done some in the past so I already had some experience with it. The logo is at least a year old but it worked well in the book. I really like how it turned out, but there is always room for improvement.

  1. Good that you did this, showed process and explained did well however you need your research posts on advertising to be added. Remember you are marked on the research and this is what you are lacking most so far on your blog. Well done though for catching up quickly and working on this
