My main research
For my project - producing a tease - I made a plan to be able to decide how I should direct my research. I considered it important to have 4 fundamental axes for my research, namely:
1. Research on animators. It is important to understand what animators do, what their work is, and how they do it. Of the animators I researched, I chose Rebecca Sugar, because for me it is an example to follow. Through the research I did on the artist, I was able to understand what work we have to do in the entire animation process, since she makes all the material available to be able to do the animation, from the synopsis, storyboard, among others.
2. Research on storyboards. I found very detailed information, as I mentioned, on the "Steven universe wiki" site. On this site, we can understand all the moments of the storyboard for the episode construction process. However, I thought I should see other examples of a storyboard. For me, this is a crucial element of animation. I looked for sites about storyboards and how the animators organize them and decided that it was best to adapt the various procedures used by different animators to what best fits my way of working.
3. Search for trailers / animated teasers. Since my first idea was to make a trailer, I decided to see some and research the processes for making a trailer. During this research, I realized that it would be better to do a teaser because it was more in line with my goals. I did some research on trailers and teasers to better decide how I was going to do my job.
4. Research software. This research could not fail to exist. If I want to make an animation, even if it is a teaser about it, I have to have software compatible with this work. To choose it I had to make purchases, based on software evaluations, try two or three and choose.
