Website: self-evaluation, planning stage

To build my website I researched some examples and how to build a website. I had already made a website that pretended to be my digital post, thus having some experience. But since I didn't want to imitate what I had, I tried to build one from scratch. After having a set of initial ideas that would help me make choices about details and organize the layout of the site, I opened a Wix account with my University email.

When it was proposed to create a website in order to promote my work, a professional portfolio, I thought I had already done one and it seemed counter-prudent to be doing another. But then I understood that I am in another phase of my life and it was important to do one from scratch to promote a more concerted, more developed work and already in the area that I intend to follow, 2D animation.

I wanted to create a professional website because I want to publicize my works/creations in the area of animation. In this case, I want to show my project in the discipline of digital arts. But in the future, I will show other projects. My website has a simple template, even in terms of layout, font, colors, menu, among others, they are simple. This allows the target audience to focus on what is important, the website itself is a means to an end, to show my work. I do not intend that people's attention is fixed on the site. Of course, it must be appealing and aesthetic, but it is not in itself what I intend to show.

The menu must be objective, taking people to the content they search for, without confusing them. The content should not be excessive so as not to run the risk of having "very heavy" pages that are slow to load. This causes people to give up. We must not exaggerate the information we want to put on each page, we have to remember that we are using a free version.

I didn't create a slogan for my website, but I created a logo with my own name because that's how I want people to know me as a professional.

After the construction phase of the site, I have to think about ways to disseminate it (something still to be analyzed), but I will most likely start with social media.

Analyzing the existence of a website, the website brings something very beneficial, which is to be always available (24 hours a day). We have to think that anywhere in the world, at any time, people can access the site and explore it. My reach can be huge, as long as I know how to publicize the site well.

Another factor that is important, especially at a time when I am not yet a full-time worker, is that the site is free. Wix and other sites allow you to make sites in a free version. Of course, if we want to take advantage of a number of features, we have the paid version. But for an initial phase, it is sufficient.
