Storyboard and logo #1
In this post, I will be talking about the first part of the storyboard for my animation.
The first thing I started to do this week was to research the artists of expressionism so I could work my art style for it. The artists that I've looked up are on my blog below this post.
So, here are the drawings that I've done.
These drawings have a lot of the aspects that I found while researching about expressionism, like backgrounds distorted, big use of the black, and big and unusual expressions. For this, I started to do my storyboard.
I wanted to begin my animation with the character doing something normal and relaxing, watching TV was my first idea in my head, but I needed to think a bit more to see the best option. After that, I would make the character realize that something was wrong with that day because that was the moment he would realize the first news about covid, hear a knock on his door like something had arrived would be a good idea, or maybe news on the TV is also a nice idea. With that, I though of making the best way to present the main character to the audience, so I thought that I could make the character go outside to pick up the newspaper on the floor close to his door, the reason being that it would show all the reactions and poses that the character does to get up and go outside.
With all of that, I did my first drawings.
Then I started to think about the title screen for the animation, and it would appear after the character sees the news about covid. It was a simple thing to do, the reason being that I only had to make a more modernized logo for it and make it simple to read. I made it simple and modernized because this Pandemic is recent, starting in 2020. Then the image under the letters in simply the virus icon slightly tilted to get along with the rest of the style of the letters.
Here is the final logo (subject to change):

Really like the logo - would like to see some images regarding how you got to that logo! Is it the first version? The tenth??
ReplyDeleteConsider some drawing exercises as mentioned in earlier comments to develop your drawing style.
Don't forget to post your project sign off.
One more thing about the logo - could this be animated too? The object underneath the text could turn or morph into the covid 19 virus image - https://www.newscientist.com/term/covid-19/
