WELCOME TO TERM TWO (2021)

 This post is mainly made to explain what I will be doing this term.

During the Christmas break, I was trying to find a new program for animation so I could do better stuff. The last program that I used last term (OpenToonz) didn't really work for me, the main problem being that it's a very confusing program and it crashed when I tried to save my project.

The programs that I found were Blender, Adobe Animate, and "Sketchbook". Blender and Sketchbook are free, but Adobe Animate is not. I will be trying the programs to see if it's worth to buy Adobe.

Next, I will try to see new ways to animate or to improve myself. Trying to see techniques of animation or techniques that I can use to make my animations look more finished and smoother. I will try to see what other animators did so I can do the same and maybe better.

Summarising, the things that I will need to do will be:

1. Get a better Program for animation;

2. See what other animators did so I can improve too;

3. Search for more animation techniques.

In the first term I learned a lot from my difficulties and my mistakes. I grew up and hope to be able to perform better. I will have a lot of work ahead of me and I know that sometimes I will get discouraged. But I will continue to walk the path. During this break, a great Portuguese artist died on January 5. In addition to being an artist, he had a social and political role in Portuguese society. He studied in the UK, just like me, and walked the intricacies of art until he was known. He could be from good families, but if he weren't good in his area, he wouldn't be able to win. His name is José Cutileiro. He created controversial and misunderstood works in the past. He didn't give up. Difficulties are part of the path and we grow with them. I want to be a good animator and I have to experiment a lot, make mistakes sometimes, experiment and work until I can make a good animation. I also want to make my way without giving up, just like João Cutileiro did and create my animation one day.

  1. Based on what we talked about during the lesson, you need to update this post and develop some of the points you make in the last paragraph. Also you have had time now to publish your Self portrait which you began in the lesson today.

    Add a piece of artist research to this post too, identifying something you looked at over the break.
