Animation process - Walking animation
One of the parts of my animation is completed, and I decided to show it today so I could explain better how my animation will work.
First, I will show the final product and then I will explain what I did to achieve it.
So, for this animation, I started by doing the main animation in Sketchbook. Because I couldn't do the background in the animation right away, I had to use a green screen so I could add the background later.
Here's the animation without background or sound:
After this, I got to draw the background that I had to use for this shot. For this, I draw 4 drawings.
The floor
The railings
The first layer of buildings (the drawings don't need to be perfect because they will be in the background)
The second layer of buildings (They are more simply because they will have a lot of objects in front of them)
With the drawings done, I had to make the character and the background work together. With this, I used a technique called "parallax", which I've done research before for my project. So in this case, I made the floor and the railings move at the same speed as the character, and I made the background move slower compared to the main character, because, the farther away it is, the slower it moves.
The only step left was to use some sound effects from the website "Freesound", one for the steps that the main character was taking, and the other for the background noises. They were easy to find and none of them were copyrighted.
I lined everything into place and rendered all the video in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 at 720p. The animation is at 15fps, but the video is at 23fps, I was worried this would cut some frames from my animation, but all went out correctly.
The green boxes are the sound and the blue boxes are the video and images. On the sound, I simply lined up the step sounds with the actual steps, and the background sound is the big green box below.
In the blue boxes, I simply moved them left to right so they could match the animation of the character.
You only need to tell the program to make the images move from a place to another by changing the numbers of the X and Y on the image. You can also make the image bigger or smaller on "scale".
I made this for all the images and videos, but with different speeds.

This looks good, but remember the marking criteria - we need to see the TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES you have used when you made this - add screenshots to these posts to illustrate what you have done.
ReplyDeleteI like the use of sound in the short clip - did you record this yourself or have you used a copyright free clip? Again, you need to let us know how you have done this.
I used sounds from the website "Freesound" like I say in the blog. I also updated my blog to show the screenshots.
