Development Exercise
During our second session of the week, we were asked to do a development exercise to help us examine and look closely into the final project that we will be creating this term. For this, I needed to do sketches of my work and study what I will be drawing for the next weeks.
I had a small plan about the sketches I wanted to make to see which ideas were better or not.
First sketch:
With these drawings I realized that I could do some slight changes to the character and keep some from the original design:
- The character will be a female character. This change was that it was more suitable for the type of character she will be. She's delicate and agile and, because it's a robot, will follow all the orders from the humans. I also wanted to try a female character.
- I saw that the design of the character worked and it would be perfect for an anime-type animation.
- I tried to give her a normal chest like women do, but it didn't make much sense because she's a robot and it would look odd.
Second sketch:
With this one, I wanted to make the spaceship that Chīsana Usagi (main character) would be in. The spaceship would have 3 rooms: main cabin, living room, engine room. This vehicle would be inspired by the well know airplane Northrop Grumman B-2 Spirit.

I would use these drawings of the spaceship as the intro for my animation, to show where we are to the public watching.
Thrid sketch:
These drawings were to see how the interior would look like inside the ship. So far I only have some of the ship complete. This week I will have to make more sketches to see what works and what doesn't.
With these final drawings, I got a small idea of the main cabin, where the main character will drive the ship. I also draw the living room down left where she sleeps and has her meetings with people on earth.
This will have a part 2...

Some really interesting visual ideas here with some good backup in your commentary. The drawings of your character in the first image is strong, good to see your style developing beyond last term. Are you going to add accessories to this character? Does she have superpowers that enhance her abilities?
ReplyDeleteOne more thing - don't use wikipedia as a source there are many other places you could have found that image such as here: https://www.aerospacemanufacturinganddesign.com/article/northrop-grumman-b2-bomber-software-update-042814/ which is from an industry site.
