Presentation - Student talk

During this week's session, we were assigned to present one of the research elements that we completed over the last few weeks in the form of a presentation.

We were separated into breakout rooms and our peers gave us feedback.

For my own presentation, I decided to research Tezuka Osamu, the father of manga and Anime. I wanted to go into detail about the way he approached Manga, the inspiration behind them, and how it is contextual to my project.

I decided to keep the PowerPoint pages relatively blank, only consisting of pictures in order to explain everything while going over it. I really liked this exercise as it helped me develop my speaking skills and gave me the opportunity to enlighten my peers about my project and the research behind it.

One question asks by one of my colleges was about the story behind the animation. I gave a brief explanation about the story behind it, but one of the following questions was "How does the story help to make the character look the way you wanted?". This question was difficult to answer, but this shows me that the story needs more development. With this, I will be writing about the background of the animation.

  1. This was an informative presentation - two things though. Could have had more analysis about the style of animation featured here and how it relates to what you are doing this term and there could have been a bit more depth to your research, perhaps finding links from your initial research idea here to other influences. Otherwise, good.
