TERM 3 Reflection

Image
I start this reflection by saying that I went through a process of change that I never imagined earlier this year. I grew a lot as a person, as a student, as a future professional. I started this semester with a different perspective on Art Portfolio because learning from the previous semester prepared me to face another challenge. I started by being confronted, once again, with a choice between different themes to be able to develop the project of this term. When we haven't tried out all the themes and what's to explore in each of them, we feel we've made the best choice. But it may not be so. It is necessary to experiment with different forms of artistic expression, in this case in animation, to understand what I can do, how far I can go, what I can learn, and how far I can develop my skills in drawing and animation. This term I was faced with a difficulty, the malfunction of my computer. I spent 3 weeks without it and with a borrowed computer, but it didn't allow me ...

StoryBoard and Animation #2

In this post, I finished some work that is important for my project. I will be showing the finished progress about the logo that I've design, I will also talk about a story board technique that I learned from Hayao Miyazaki and a poster prototype that I've done. For the logo, I started to analise and give porpuse for some of the fetueres of the logo. I wanted to make sure the logo had so aspects related to the animation. I made a digital version of the logo and I selected some parts to explain their porpuse. 1- Main character's head silhouette on the last letter, making it clear who is the main portagonist 2- Arrow that has the shape of the space ship from the animation, the line is off center to show that is not only an arrow 3- Hegaxonal shape, this shape is very used when representing futuristic technoligy. With these main keys, I finalized the logo: After this, I decided to paint some scenes from my animation using a technique that Hayao Miyazaki uses on his work. You ...

Storyboard and Animation #1

I plan to make some posts showing the progress of my animation project and this will be the first. When I make an animation, I build a set of ideas that relate to the initial idea and that develop it. There are also necessarily changes, be they simpler or more complex. This is related to some attempts that in practice may not work so well when you actually go to the work of animating. One of the first notes is that I've decided to change the character's name for something simpler and easier to say. The Storyboard has several stages and the first one I'm going to show is up to the scene where the title appears. This is the introduction of the animation. I will simply show the space where the animation will take place. Most of the scenes have names labeled so it's easier to understand where it belongs and some have text explaining what is happening (for being harder to understand just by looking). There will be a 2nd character called the commander. This character has no d...
