ADVERTISING: PLANNING AND FINISH PRODUCT

Image
(this is just for the photo of the post, and it was made by me and the explanation will be down below) When the advertising came to me I had a lot of ideas in mind. I brainstormed all my ideas and I came to a conclusion on what I wanted to do first.  My advertisement would be simple and direct but at the same time professional. I started looking up examples for my advert and I saw a lot from Apple and Google, being both professional and really simplistic. While I was thinking about what I would do for my advertisement, I came to a website called Freepik . Freepik is a website where you can get material for free for photoshop, and looking more on the website I found this:  The moment I saw this, I knew what I wanted to do. My plan was to do an advertisement to promote my own comic book.  The steps were simple. I downloaded that book that was with everything I needed for my advertisement. 1st - I open this file on photoshop and it came with the book, shadows, reflect...

MY OWN SEQUENTIAL IMAGES: FULL PROCESS

Image
When I first saw this task I didn't want to do something really difficult. My first idea was to take photos of myself doing something, It was simple but I didn't really know what to do. Because I was self-isolating, I couldn't do much and nobody could help me. I started to look around to find an easy way to do this project. When I did my research about this, I saw that all the photographers that did sequential images, they always choose something easy to understand. So it came to the idea of taking photos of me opening my closet. First, I did a quick drawing about what I wanted to do. It wasn't really difficult, but notes/drawings always help me to know what I should do. With my plan done, I put my phone in a good place and I basically recorded a video of me opening and closing my closet. Then I took the video and I simply took screenshots of every frame I wanted (and while doing that I notice that my movement was so perfect that some shots look identical to other ones...

SMART OBJECTIVE

Image
In this post, I will be explaining what my Smart Object is. S-Specific What do I want to create? I wanted to create for the first time a comic book using digital tools. I would take big inspiration from Disney and other cartoons from Cartoon Network. I could also try and create a trailer for that same comic book by doing an animation of 1 minute. For my comic book, I will be using characters that I have created 2 years ago. The comic will be called "Oak Tree". The comic will be black and white. M-Measurable How will I know that I achieved it? The Project will be finished when I have at least a good amount of pages to do a good comic book. A-Achievable Is it in my power to accomplish it? I believe so. I've done comics a long time ago and I started learning how to animate. I will be using programs that I'm familiar with, like photoshop, premiere Pro, Krita (a program similar to photoshop, but just with the drawing features) R-Realistic Can I realistically achieve it? ...

SEQUENTIAL IMAGES: RESEARCH

In the twentieth century, people were starting to understand how to capture motion because of the invention of the camera.     Eadweard Muybridge Muybridge's name is associated with the photography of movement. He started working on this area in 1872 when he was asked to take a picture of a horse. People wanted to know when a horse was running if he ever touched the ground with all 4 legs. So they describe the process: "Cameras were placed in a line in a long shed and in front of each was a special shutter triggered electro-magnetically by the horse or the wheels of a sulky as it made contact with wires stretched across the track.". The result was great and they had achieved the first-ever photographs of sequences of movement and the results were published in Muybridge's Attitudes of Animals in Motion (1881). Eadweard Muybridge,  The Galloping Horse Portfoli o, 1887 I really enjoy these photographs of this horse running, they show the first steps of any type o...

Welcome to my Blog!

Image
Welcome to my blog!       My name is André Carvalho, I'm 18 years old and I'm Portuguese. In the 10th year, I chose the visual arts course.       Since I was a kid I make cartoons about the subjects they gave at school, I presented works through drawings made by me and I was invited to make drawings/cartoons to present the school's annual themes.      I always had a great passion for drawing and I dream of being a cartoon animator and, therefore, I intend to take a degree in the area of Art & Design. Me      A lot of things inspire me to do the work that I have done so far. Things like animations, drawings, games, and even music inspire me. My work can be found in my portfolio .     Big inspirations:     1st: LINKIN PARK     When I was a baby (2/3 years old) my mom and my dad enjoyed listening to Linkin Park, and that, indirectly, affected me.      ...
